Reflection

Share your insights about the passage from the Bible " Call unto me and I will answer thee, and show the great and mighty things which thou knowest not. Jeremiah 33:3"

We are sinful. Indeed we are even condemned by the Almighty because of the wickedness we take everyday in our lives. He was able to separate us from His love because of these things. But because He truly loves us and He can't let His children suffer, He sent his only begotten Son Jesus Christ to save all of his people. Through Christ, we are now connected and intimate with God the Father by accepting Him of course as our Lord and Savior.
In the world that we live in, problems are everywhere. Sometimes we say that we can no longer ease the pain that is within us. We can no longer hold on with the minute faith that we have to surpass all our problems and difficulties. That it seemed that no one cares and loves us in the way that we expect them to be. But we are all mistaken, God said that just call my name and ask, and the windows and doors of the Heavens shall be opened for us. He said that he is willing to listen in times when there is no one to talk to. He is willing to help even if there is no one to give a hand. Just call and surely He shall answer.
As His sons and daughters he will never leave us nor forsake us. It is us who neglects Him. Aren't we ashamed of these things? Shame on us. He calls us but we try to get out from His presence. He knows all our griefs and He knows all the things that we want. So don't hesitate to open our hearts and minds to welcome Him as our Father who is willing to do everything for us.

Semi-Final Exam Via Blog

2.      Compare and contrast Miniver with Richard Cory. Miniver Cheevy is the subject of another Robinson poem. Click here to read the poem of Edwin Arlington Robinson. Limit to 200 words only. 30 points.

Richard Cory as described by the poem was a man who is admired by everyone. He was indeed rich and was good to everyone. He seemed to own everything in the world. He is a good-looking person with very good personality and everybody wants to be in his shoes because of the wealth that Richard Cory has. In the other hand Miniver is very much different in the sense that he longs for the respect and admiration that Richard Cory has. Even good people of the society want to take his life and he seems to be hopeless with his life about all the miseries is going through.

Yet, they do have similarities and that is that Richard Cory and Miniver do possess the burden and misery of life. They both don’t have true friends to lean on in times of need and they both kept within themselves their own problems which then made their lives miserable. The society has indeed ignored their true feelings, despite of his worthlessness, Miniver needed friends and admiration and inspite of Richard Cory’s wealth and power he needed someone to lean on and share on with all of his problems. Though they seemed to be opposite their lives was a testimony that life can never be perfect, it always lies on how we handle the spices it gives and that hope it offers.

Semi-Final Exam Via Blog

1.      Everyone has met Richard Cory. Someone who suffers inner turmoil but appears outwardly calm. How did you deal with such personality? Write a descriptive essay about this idea.  (There is no need to mention the person's name.) Limit to 300 words only. 35 points

A person’s life wouldn’t be completed without problems, challenges and of course difficulties. I may say this is already a part of our life which is unavoidable.  The thing that gives colour to our life and tests our capacity in handling different situations. Though sometimes we really need someone to cast our cares upon to relief ourselves from the problems that we are facing. Someone we can lean on and someone we can run to in times of need can sometimes be our way of freeing ourselves from the bitterness that we are feeling every time we encounter hard situations.
No one is perfect as they say. And no matter how good someone’s life is, there would always be that thing which would not be ours alone. Many people look so good as if they don’t have any problem and probably we may say that their lives can be called as the Perfect and Upright one, though we don’t notice that deep inside their hearts they hide something. Something which was hidden to the unconscious, not knowing that they do posses larger and bigger problem than us. Sometimes we try to hide our true feelings for others to see the good in us. However, it is not bad to show to them our true feelings. When you are angry, then show to them that you can no longer hold the pressure.  Being true to everyone about your feelings can give you enough relief and satisfaction rather than you keep it from inside.
According to studies, people who doesn’t show what they feel die earlier than those who expresses what they feel. Showing intense emotions like being angry, sad and happy can strengthen one’s personality. We must always remember that killing one’s life is never an option in the solutions of our problems. We should always remember that we have a great God to lean on and friends that we can run on times of need.

Assignment: The Teaching of Lit( It Couldn't Be Done)

Assignment: The Teaching of Lit

“Beauty and the Beast: A Reflection

The story of Beauty and the Beast is a common story told by us from our childhood days until today. We do still tackle this story because the values that are taught are still applicable and can be called as classic. Values that from time to time diminish because of the trend of the world of which we live in.
The different characters in the story showed the common attitudes, that most of us do possess. Say for instance, one of the antagonists Gaston is a man who loves to quarrel with others and often times wastes his time on drinking. His life is centered on these things making his life useless and unproductive unlike others. A lot of our fellow Filipinos today do not progress because of being lazy and drunkard. Even blames the government of why they are poor knowingly its them who made their lives miserable.
On the other side of the story here is this cursed Prince Adam who is ugly and wants to get rid of the curse the fairy did to him. Despite of his ugly looks he still does possess a kind-heart and a strong man who will do everything for the one he loved. Sometimes we judge people through how they look and how good looking they are neglecting the most important part of an individual which is the inner attitude and character which is the most important above all.
However the unique part of the story was how Belle responded to the request of the beast and how she risked her life for the sake of her father. Not all of us can sacrifice our own life for others and the fact that the man, that she’ll be with is a beast. One in a million, I may say on how Belle handled the situation. She was never judgemental nor negative to Prince Adam instead she was kind to him even though sometimes he is intimidating.
True love can never be measured in the outside appearance of an individual. Yet judging the book by its cover is indeed the trend of our society today. Love, loyalty and trust must be present to our lives and we should therefore never base our judgement on the outside appearance but rather to delve in the true personality of someone.
